With over 3000 lakes Central Finland has many places to enjoy canoeing. Wanha Witonen is one of the most famous canoeing routes in Finland. It starts at Petäjävesi, where you can see Petäjävesi Old Church (a UNESCO World Heritage site) right from you canoe. It then flows through Jämsä and ends at Arvaja. The total length of this route is 75 km. Tranquility, long summer days and unbelievably beautiful views make the trip a memorable one.

If you have never done canoeing before, there are courses arranged in Jämsä and Jyväskylä. Paddling, canoeing or SUP sessions can be booked from Tavinsulka Oy.
