Himos Holiday Center is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Central Finland and one of the largest ski resorts in Finland. It is located between two cities – Jyväskylä and Tampere, at Lake Patalahti.

In winter, Himos is a place to be, since here you can experience the best of all the winter activities ranging from husky and snowmobile safaris to skating on the lake or arctic swimming. There are 21 slopes, 15 lifts, Snow Park and a range of cross-country tracks at the ski resort. As for the accommodation, you have over 400 cottages, a hotel, a motel and a caravan area open in summer to choose from.

For those interested in the Finnish sauna culture Himos Holiday Center offers various sauna experiences. Every cottage or villa at the holiday center has its own private sauna. In addition to that, there are two idyllic saunas for rent at Lake Patalahti – the traditional smoke sauna and the lakeside sauna for small and larger groups. Besides the saunas, there are hot tubs in almost one hundred cottages and villas. Hot tubs can be either indoors or outdoors on the terrace of a cottage, where you can have a soothing bath under the starry sky in winter. Relaxing and healing effects of the nature in Himos can be experienced with an awarded wellness programme “Forest Bath”. “Forest Bath” was among the 25 awarded nominees of the FinRelax competition 2015 organised by VisitFinland.

If you want to have a culturally rich experience, you can attend one of the four major festivals and several other events and concerts. In addition to the music events, Neste Rally Finland has an important timed section around Himos. Every other autumn Himos becomes a meeting place for international guests from all over the world coming to attend FinnMETKO, a heavy forest machinery exhibition in Jämsänkoski, which is situated 15 minutes of drive from Himos cottages.
