Lakeland – Jyväskylä Region is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful regions in Finland. The municipalities, cities and towns in the region are a unique mix of nature, activities and people.
In this post we introduce you to Kinnula. What are the recommendations to see or to do by locals? Please remember that you can find more suggestions about the area from the travel website.
Karkausmäen Kammari is a real oasis of wellbeing. This old lumberjacks’ cabin has been renovated into a cosy bed & breakfast with a wood-heated sauna, hot tub and a lean-to. The B&B hosts sauna and wild herb courses and other wellbeing events. (Photo: Game Restaurant Pikku Peura)
The forest bathing and wild food (WILDERNESS GET-AWAY) product package has received an award from Visit Finland and offers visitors a chance to savour the stillness of nature surrounding them. Slowing down and listening to our inner self is key to allowing the brain to relax and stress levels to drop. Studies show that just 15 minutes spent in the forest reduces stress. In addition to spending quiet time in the forest, you will enjoy wild food and sauna and staying overnight in the comfort of an idyllic inn. (Photo: Game Restaurant Pikku Peura)
Close to the town centre is a café, Kinnulan Parlamentti, which is popular among locals and serves freshly baked pastries and cakes daily and is a centre of town gossip. They know how to crack jokes around here. Local characters have all got nicknames, but they have to be earned. Parlamentti is also home to the tourist info and sells souvenirs and flowers.
